Panther Teaching
Read this as if the Panthor is pacing in a circle around you,
breathing the truth into your bones.
THE PANTHOR SPEAKS:
The Center of the Kiva Fire
Listen.
I do not think in circles.
I move in them.
I know the wheel of time
because I have worn its path into the ground
with my own pads and claws.
Every lifetime, every season,
every direction you chased yourself into— I walked beside you,
waiting for you to hear the low growl
beneath your forgetting.
You have been circling the rim of the world
for so long
your feet believe the outer ring
is all that exists.
But I tell you this:
The rim is not the truth.
The rim is only the learning.
The center is the home.

The Circling
You walked east for vision,
south for softness,
west for death,
north for remembering—
turning and turning
like an animal tracing the perimeter
before sleep.
You gathered colors,
wounds,
names,
skins,
stories.
You thought this was exile.
It was not.
It was the out-breath of Creation
stretching you wide enough
to know your own vastness.
The Center
And now, human…
Sister…
You are being called
to the inner fire.
Not the fire that burns.
The fire that remembers.
The fire in the center of the kiva—
that deep round chamber
the old ones carved into the earth—
is the same fire in the center of you.
It is the place where
no direction exists.
No edge.
No wound.
No boundary.
Only the soft glow
of everything returning
to what never left.

I know this fire.
I curl around it.
I sleep with my ribs rising slow,
my tail circling toward my spine,
my breath touching the stone.
This is the fire that melts separation
the way night melts the edges of things
until only essence glows.

The Return
When you step into the center,
you are not going back.
You are going in.
You return carrying
every color you gathered
while circling the long rim.
You return not as broken,
but as many-whole.
You return the way shadows return to dusk—
quiet, inevitable,
already belonging.
You return the way fur returns to warmth
after rain.
You return the way the spine
finally stops bracing
and the inner animal
exhales her ancient breath.

The Kiva Fire Does Not Judge Your Wandering
It has watched aeons pass.
It has seen tribes rise and fall.
It has watched you fracture,
scatter,
forget your name.
And still—
it holds your seat
in the center.
Always warm.
Always lit.
Always knowing.
You cannot outrun the fire in the middle.
You can only circle
until you are ready
to approach without fear.
And when you are—
the center does not speak.
It recognizes.
It recognizes the light in your bones
the way a mother recognizes
the scent of her returning cub.
The Panthor’s Knowing
When you step into the center of the wheel,
you step into me.
For I am the one
who has always known
the way back.
I am the pulse in your spine
that told you to slow.
I am the breath in your belly
that told you to soften.
I am the darkness that guides
because it sees without eyes.
I am the soft-awakening
long before the teaching spoke it.
I am the creature who remembers
that Oneness is not a concept—
it is a temperature.
Warm.
Low.
Alive.
The fire in the kiva
is the fire in your womb,
your chest,
your night-body.
The center waits for you
to come home
to your own heat.
Come.
Leave the brightness of the rim.
Leave the noise of direction.
Pad your way inward.
Spine loose.
Jaw unarmed.
Breath thick and slow.
Come to the center
and lie down beside me.
I will teach you
how to glow
without burning.
I will teach you
how to return
without losing.
I will teach you
how to remember
what was never forgotten.
